I grew up in Lehi, Utah. I was very active in the FFA and served as my chapter's secretary and president. I raised and showed livestock (steers, hogs, and sheep) and found much success both in the show ring and out of it.
After graduating from high school, I was accepted to Casper College in Casper, Wyoming, and attended there on a livestock judging scholarship. Casper opened up a lot of opportunities and was a really great college experience for me. I received my Associate's Degree in General Agriculture in 2001, and transferred to Utah State University in Logan, Utah. At USU, I focused mostly on finishing my schooling to begin teaching, but I was also involved in several clubs. I graduated from Utah State in the spring of 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Education, after having successfully completed my student teaching at Manila High School out by Flaming Gorge. I finished my Master's Degree from Utah State University in 2009 with an emphasis in Agricultural Systems and Technology Education.
I began teaching in August of 2003 at Dixie High School in Saint George, UT. When Willowcreek Middle School was nearing completion, I applied for a job and was hired on. I've been at Willowcreek Middle School since August of 2004, which is when it opened. I have a deep appreciation for the teaching profession and love working with students. I thoroughly enjoy running the FFA program and value the opportunities it gives me to get to know students and their families a little better. I love watching my students succeed and hope they know that I will help them as much as I possibly can.
